Armell M. Tchomtong Mahnig was born in Cameroon and raised in Zurich within a richly diverse European, African, and American household, she later settled in Geneva, where her multicultural family life continues to inspire her stories. A proud Swiss woman with deep roots in Africa, she brings global perspective and emotional depth to every page she writes.
Her professional journey has always centered on helping others and making a meaningful impact. She worked for International SOS, a pioneer in international health and security risk management, before joining the World Health Organization, where she received a Medal of Excellence for her contribution to the fight against the Ebola outbreak.
Writing became another way for her to serve, to uplift, and to give voice to stories that matter.
A lifelong book lover, she has always found comfort and strength in stories. She firmly believes that education and literature can teach the next generation empathy, tolerance, identity, love, and respect ; values that guide every step of her writing.
At home, she is a happy wife and lovingly outnumbered by her two children: a thoughtful thirteen‑year‑old son and a spirited five‑year‑old “drama consultant” who insists on approving every chapter.
“I signed my real name on this book to honor those who came before me, and to honor my son and daughter. But you can call me NINA ; it’s the name my family uses, and now that you’re holding my story, you’re part of that family too.
I am a friend and a sister to many, because love recognizes every color, every faith, every country, every orientation ; and embraces them all.”
